How does elegance enhance our lives?

How does elegance enhance our lives?

At this moment I'm still in the process of making the company my own.

Its interesting to investigate how Ines built up Ines Gloves her own way and what core values are present.

When Ines passed away it was not only my mother but also Ines, the founder of the company, that is not here anymore.
What she left behind, you could call it a legacy, it sure was something elegant, something that brings color to life.

Not that we are a totally new and different company now, but things have changed obviously.

Of course
we craft leather gloves but there's something utterly important underneath it all.

I already knew, but now it becomes much more clearer to me that the essence of what we do has everything to do with one word: elegance.

But what is elegance?
There's so much too it.

-The quality of being graceful and stylish in appearance or manner-

This description implies its objectiveness and related to context.

I think elegance always brings something meaningful to yourself, someone else or the world.

Traditional etiquette could be perceived as an elegant manner.
Ines, and me too, felt a bit stuffy about those glove etiquette.

“I think people always make things so complicated about gloves.”

So she created her own
glove etiquette.
In short:

"Always, always wear gloves."

Ines' glove designs are inspired by the timeless elegance of the 1950's.
A time when people felt the pleasure and means of dressing up more when going out, thats for sure.

Coco Chanel:

“Elegance is when the inside is as beautiful as the outside.”

Unfortunately the world we live in is not always a beautiful reality.
Imagine a world without color where life is dull and grey.
War, illness, poverty, hunger and despair thrive.

Now think of elegance as little colourful sparkles that make the world a more beautiful and exciting place to live.

One of those sparkles could be you by how the way you treat others.
Or when you are being true to yourself, when you accept the way you look or how you want to appear.

To me its an endless quest for beautiful things.
Don't we all want a beautiful world to live in!?

Just like gloves, you are a little sparkle of elegance!

Greetings from rainy Amsterdam,

Bob, son of Ines
